NYSTCE Health Education

The NYSTCE Health Education test measures your knowledge according to the New York State Academic Standards. Success on this test indicates that you are qualified to teach curriculum related to health in the New York State public school system. The test content is drawn from these subareas: Personal Health and Fitness (36% of the exam); Maintaining a Safe and Healthy Environment (18%); Health-Related Resources and Skills (22%); the Health Education Program (14%); and a Health-Related Resources and Skills constructed-response question (10%). The test consists of approximately 90 multiple-choice questions and one constructed-response question.
