NYSTCE Deaf and Hard of Hearing
The NYSTCE Deaf and Hard of Hearing test measures your knowledge according to the New York State Academic Standards. Success on this test indicates that you are qualified to teach individuals that are deaf or hearing impaired in the New York State public school system. The test content is drawn from these subareas: Understanding Students Who Are Deaf and Hard of Hearing (16% of the exam); Assessing Students and Developing Individualized Education Programs (26%); Promoting Student Development and Learning (32%); Working in the Professional Environment (16%); and a Promoting Student Development and Learning constructed-response question (10%). The test consists of approximately 90 multiple-choice questions and one constructed-response question.
